It's tax season which, for most people, is about as welcome as a migraine. With some planning and organization, filing your tax return can become less painful.
I've compiled a list of common business expenses for writers. Of course, this does not include every possible deduction, but it offers suggestions that will help you reduce your taxable income.

ReplyDeleteI a writer with an older computer. The tech people at Best Buy repair it from time to time. Can I write the cost off as a business expense?
ReplyDeleteSound advice for writers as well as editors.
ReplyDeleteEven after many years of doing my own taxes, I found new information in your article. Well done.
ReplyDeleteRosemary: Yes, you can deduct the cost of repairs for the computer. If you use it 100% for work, you can write off 100% of the repair cost. If the computer also is used for personal reasons, you can write off a percent of the repair costs.
