Is this a before tax deduction, or a straight deduction from tax owed? <br /><br />For years, my "home office" was one of two rooms in a 2-bedroom apartment. I calculated the entire area (.18 of the entire apt) easily. I just measured it and found the entire square footage on the complex's website ad. .18x850x12 = 1836 dollars. <br /><br />I also learned to purchase water, tissue, and plants used in my office separately.
